In mid-December I am set to graduate from uni with my bachelor's degree. For various reasons, I intend to purchase the full regalia (gown, hood, trencher). Naturally, I would like to get the best possible value.
I can only get the hood from the university's supplier, but does anyone know the best place to get the gown and hat?
You get to wear a hat with your Bachelor's degree?

I don't get to wear a hat either for my Bachelors! :( Guess I'll have to wait until I finish my Masters!
I noticed that you are in Sydney, if by chance you go to UNSW they also have the $99 sets that can be picked up from the ARC store in upper campus (http://gradgift.arc.unsw.edu.au/c/68/99-bachelor-set)

Not sure which Uni you attend, but there's this external service called "Gowntown" (http://www.gowntown.com.au/) which stocks regalia for a number of Universities - for me, this will be the most viable option seeing as 1) it's $50 cheaper than hiring through Uni, 2) I won't have to be rushing before the ceremony to collect my regalia and 3) The price of $99 (shipping extra) is for actually buying the graduation regalia, rather than simply hiring and then returning it.
I know that brings up the question of "why would I want to buy and keep my graduation regalia?!?!" but I guess it is (at least for me) cheaper than simply hiring through the Uni supplier. And plus, if you've got friends in lower uni years doing your same course, you could let them hire it out from you for a lower price :D
