  • Happy Diwali to you 2 and everyone. Are you the superm86 from Expatforums?

    • Thanks. hehe Small world - yes!

      • Really a small world. I used to refer ExpatsForm quite a lot, some time ago.

        Happy Deepavli to all.. :)

  • Happy Diwali SuperSperm69 !

  • We been thinking to try some Indian food.
Any recommendation for a good Indian restaurant for dinner ( in/around Harris Park or Wentworthville or castle hills) in low - mid range? Anything from below list?

    neighbor gave this list :
    Blu Ginger Indian Cuisine
    Castle Taj
    Haveli
    Billu's
    Kaavery Indian
    Kumars Taj
    Maharaja's Haveli

    • Ginger at Harris Park is the best - in that area.

Apart from that there is Maharaja's Haveli in Quaker's Hill. Ask for Tony and he will look after you.

    • Try urban spoon rating .. but don't believe all they say - just take it for reference!

    • I'd have to say Curry Hut at Windsor, the best Indian food you'll ever taste ! and its amazing just to sit at windsor.

    Happy Diwali Everyone!

I am celebrating by thanking God that my senses/limbs are in good working order and that my parents are still around.

  • Happy Diwali!

Diwali or Deepavali means 'row of lamps'. This festival of lights is a much coveted Hindu festival which dates back to the ancient times. Diwali represents the victory of good over evil and eliminating inner darkness with light. Traditionally, Diwali is celebrated by donning new clothes, uniting with family and friends, sharing good food and lots of sweets and lighting small clay lamps and fireworks. Despite being a Hindu festival, Diwali transcends all races and religions and is largely a community festival which aims at fostering good relationships amongst families, friends, neighbours and the community.

I am curious - in what way is it 'much coveted'?
Do all the other religions wish they had a festival this awesome?

  • Happy Diwali to all! May you all benefit from the good bargains.
