    • And you negged this deal because you think halloween is "un-australian"? What does your own personal opinion of halloween has to do with the actual deal?

While i agree with "why do we have to do everything US does", KK is an American company and i have no issues with them promoting their business like any other company.
Besides that, its a fun day for the kids.

Get that chip off your shoulder and get over it.

      • Nope, it's bullshit and doesn't belong here. This ain;t the US.

    • Halloween is a Celtic tradition. With around 38% of Australians having Irish or Scottish ancestry, many people in Australia celebrate Halloween.

Get dressed up for a buy 1 get 1 free offer on a doughnut - serious ?

    • +1

So you negged this because you have to dress up? That is a stupid reason to neg this since BOGOF is always a decent deal as long as the price for the paid one is the same as always which in this case i think it is.
I think a dozen KK doughnuts is expensive for what it is, the p5rice is what it is and always has been even when you don't get one for free.

      • I disagree.

What if the terms were 'you get a BOGOF dinner meal but you have to wash dishes for 2 hours afterwards'?

The monetary price is paid the same way sure, but there is way more effort (and money) required in dressing in a head to toe costume unless it is something you usually do anyway, it's in addition to the monetary cost. And since we're in Australia, it's not really 'something we would do anyway'.

        • It has nothing to do with it. This is OzBargain and monetary value is the one that matters. You don't like to dress up, then fine, don't do it.
And it is obvious that nobody is going to buy a halloween dress to get a box of free doughnuts, so for people who already have it and don't mind dressing up, then yeah it is a good deal for them.

You may not want to do it and neither will i, but for people who don't mind doing it, it is a good deal.

As far as whether "we" do this or not and what your opinion of halloween is, is irrelevant as far as the actual deal goes.

        • @allyemil:

I take it all on board, but I (personally) find it a bit ridiculous to have to jump through a significant hoop for a minor reward (buy 1 get 1 free is a pretty lame reward in my mind - but obviously some of the Ozb community think its a worthy deal).

        • +1

          @allyemil:

It has nothing to do with my opinion on Halloween. It has everything to do with the fact that dressing up is a requirement in addition to the cost. This could be any other day and any other requirement hoop to jump through and my opinion would be similar (depending on the difficulty of the hoop).

If monetary cost is all that matters then things like having to wait for a month to receive the item on launch day or having to deal with a website being crashed due to being ozbargained or jumping through hoops to use a mail forwarder wouldn't have any consideration whatsoever.

Now I'm fine with the deal being up for people to vote on. But it hardly seems fair when people who don't think the deal is good enough to go for themselves (as opposed to a good deal but they don't need to buy one so choose not to) should vote on it.

  • Buy one get one free? Would this work for buying a box of a dozen?
