HELP! Where to get a GHD at a good price??

I'm wanting to get a ghd and was looking at ry.com.au. Is this a legitimate GHD retailer? I know there are a lot of fake websites out there ripping you off on ghds!! Has anyone bought from them before?

Can anyone recommend where I can get a ghd at a discount to the RRP? They cost a fortune and any savings I can get will be a good relief on my wallet.

Thank you in advance for your advice!

Hi there i bought mine from RY last year for $285 in a pink pack, they're genuine. As soon as you get the code from the straightener go to the official GHD site and type it in there and it will tell you if its genuine or not. Also catwalk has those pink packs like the one i bought for $285 in a box with the lip gloss.

I've never tried, but ebay seems to be a great place for GHDs well below RRP. http://shop.ebay.com.au/?_nkw=ghd . The feedback for the big sellers all say brand new and genuine. I own one myself which is dying. When it's done, I plan to get my next one from ebay =)
Alternatively you could wait until the next cathoftheday baitathon and hope they'll repeat their ghd sales.

Ebay is full of fakes! Don't trust it! RY.com.au is legit…use the code 'voguery' for a further discount.

    • thanks for the code! do you know how much the further discount is?

      • It's 5%.

  • also unless you buy from a registered seller (ry is one) and get a reciept, GHD won't honour any warranties/do any repairs.

  • BTW…there ARE some registered salons who sell via ebay. Best to make contact, try and visit the salon in person and pick it up there (in order to get a proper reciept, rather than an eBay one (these won't be honoured)

  • I was exactly in the same position before and someone recommended me RY and i got it from there. Ebay is definitely not trustworthy

  • Alright well since my ebay suggestion was so unpopular, catchoftheday's next baitathon is going to have $200 ghds.

    • Thanks!! $200 GHDs!! Do we know if they are genuine??

      • I'm quite sure they'd be genuine, as it's CotD. I've bought a nintendo Wii and other brand name products from there, which have all been genuine.

If you haven't tried CotD's SOS sale before, you might want to do some research on it first.
The problem with CotD's is there will be many people trying and the product tends to sell out within a few minutes. But from memory the GHDs haven't sold out as quickly as some other products, but still quite quickly.
And you'll have to babysit the computer from 12pm-12am tomorrow - it's one new product every 1/2 hour and the popular products sell out quickly (the PS3 will sell out in 5 seconds). Hint: Generally they place the popular products after 6pm but not always. Read back on past CotD forum threads to get an idea :)

      • Regardless of whether they are genuine or not you need to contact GHD to find out whether or not they will honour any warranty on items sold from COTD - need to ask whether or not they are a registered reseller (otherwise you may be unable to have it repaired by GHD).

ETA: the same would apply for any retailer you buy GHDs from though, not just COTD. Before buying its best to ring GHD, check that they are registered as a retailer and that, if you buy from them, you are assured that GHD will repair any faults…there have been many people who have bought from websites claiming to be registered GHD resellers (and technically its not the website that is registered, but the salon that runs the website, as in the case of RY.com.au)…and, while they have recieved genuine GHDs, GHD have refused to repair any faults or honour warranties on these straighteners…
