Screen for HTC Desire 310

The screen of my Vodafone contracted, post-paid, HTC Desire 310, cracked after a fall, on a recent international flight. Vodafone Australia charge $ 40 to assess and the chap at their Warringah Mall store said a new screen would cost more than $ 130, all up.

Questions:

1) Anyone know where I can get it fixed much cheaper or even buy a cheap screen?

2) Is it worth doing or am I better off buying a new mobile?

3) What is the best sub $ 150 mobile around or which can compare with the HTC 310?

    1) I don't think you'll find many places that will fix the 310.
    2) Yes.
    3) If you like the 310, you can get one for $139 on eBay (Australian Stock). Kmart currently has the Huawei G526 for $95 which I would take over the 310.

    Rang K Mart in Chatswood who confirm that the sale is on until Oct 28th but they have no stock.

    They are also hard locked onto Vodafone (is that easy enough to fix cheaply?)

    Ringing other K Marts, meanwhile.

      1+ for Huawei G526 - very happy with our purchase. If you don't like Huawei's UI, just Install 3rd party launcher… we installed Nova launcher and its a great device.

      Contact Bagman - he can unlock any Huawei devices for approx $5.50
      If you are lucky, you may get the unlocking code free from Vodafone site

      I can see you are a VF postpaid customer… so probably you don't need the phone unlocked… or give them a call and they should unlock it for you for free (as you are an existing post paid customer).

    I am grateful, Kelvin H for your suggestion. A week ago I became the proud owner of a Huawei G 526 & today it was unlocked free by Vodafone. The phone is adequate for my needs and cheap as chips - a real bonus!

    P.S. Is it necessary to augment it's memory by getting a 16 gb card? I don't take photos/videos often.
