All you need to do is sign up for a free profile and then they'll start spamming you with discounted subscriptions. I was on there for 3 months, the cheapest I've seen it is $9.95 a month for 3 months but $15 a month for 3 months is quite standard.
Personally, I found the experience terrible - people who didn't match my requirements and who generally just came across as desperate. I wouldn't go back - would rather be single!!
I did briefly join EHarmony, and got immediately slammed with pornographic junk email, as well as direct messages from men who were 'temporarily working overseas' and thought I looked attractive and wanted to move immediately to direct communication (which was very nice of them however I hadn't posted any photos at that stage).
When I emailed eHarmony support to suggest that their site had either been hacked or that they had sold my email address to spammers, I got a generic email telling me that joining doesn't guarantee a match (which was not the topic of my complaint). I had to put an overseas block on my Commbank card to stop the monthly direct debits (the billing is from the US).
You should also be aware that they consider that Melbourne to Brisbane is a local match.
Personally I would avoid them like the plague.
