  • Try Kayak or Flight Fox.

    • The cheapest I could find from kayak is $1020 per person and that doesn't include baggage.Might have to give Flight Fox a go if I can't find anything a better deal and that would be my last resort. have you used them before? Are they any good? How much is the service fee for Flight fox pls?

      • Cheapest is with CrapStar. $830 excluding baggage.

        • @mustkill, thanks but can't leave in feb. The cheapest in april to may is $990 with "crapstar". How much is baggage ? $160?

          Edit: I can't remember the last time I've booked a flight. Usually the mrs books and organises all our holidays.

          @Jar Jar Binks:

          I'd just like to say, I have flown the Melbourne to Honolulu return with jetstar and it really was not bad. On the way there we had an older aircraft with massive seats compared to regular jetstar, it was exactly like the qantas A330 without a TV.. On the way back however I had a brand new interiored plane with TV's, half sized seats and no leg room.

          My secret is sleeping tablets. I took double the dosage on the way back and I was asleep before took off and I woke up with 2 hours left of the flight.

          In regards to in flight entertainment.. buying an iPad mini or equivalent would be cheaper than buying a full service airline fare.

          I guess because its a surprised trip for the mrs you may want to fly a better airline which I can find $1181 on qantas for those exact dates but that involves a stop over in sydney (very short but still).. (on bestjet.com)

          Alternatively you could apply for a credit card that you will get 50,000 bonus frequent flyer points (theres an ANZ one with a $105 fee). And its around 57,000 points for one return trip.. Therefore you could potentially save $900 that way.

          You have many options grass hopper.

        • @rambutann: Thanks for the review. Crappy airline is fine. It will feel more like an adventure:) The real surprise is for when we get to Hawaii.

    Sign up for Hawaii Airlines. Sometimes they have good deals.
    April should be shoulder or peak season hence more expensive?

    This just came in from travelzoo this morning
    http://www.travel.com.au/
    Changing the departure to Melbourne alters the airlines but it
    does seem to be offered for some of your dates (If they are available)

    • Quite expensive though when departing ex Melb. I was hoping the airfares would be under $900 per person.
