What Can I Do if I Haven't Received Jeans from an Online Retailer and No Communication?

Hi guys,

Never been in this situation, i might be overreacting but the advice would be good if it doesn't get resolved.

I bought a pair of jeans from www.inseam.com.au, this was the second pair after i didn't get any tracking confirmation or number on the first pair. When i contacted them they said Auspost would have sent me an email but i didn't receive it, and was told they followed it up and that Auspost either incorrectly processed and lost or tracking number is simply faulty.

I put in my second order on the 28th and again i haven't received any notification of shipping or confirmation. I live in Sydney and they are also based here, so shipping shouldn't take longer than 2 days. I put through an email and they have yet to get back to me.

What can i do in this situation?
1) I paid by Mastercard
2) There is nothing on their site about their shipping policy
3) No other form of contact other than an email address

If i don't receive or hear back from them in the next week or so, is there any way i can get a refund?

Thanks.

  • Never heard of this site. Did you receive the first order?

    • Nope. Sorry forgot to mention. They gave me a refund and a 10% off next order. It's a small business, recommended by a few blogs but old posts. He mentioned also in the email they are winding down so they don't get any new stock in.

I would go with a charge back on your credit card as joelab said below. For both orders.

You will be able to do a chargeback but you need to wait a reasonable amount of time to receive the goods, I think it's around 30 days….definitely not 2. You need to contact your bank to do it.

    • I didn't know about this option. I will definitely wait and see, it's not an issue as of yet, but just in case it does, at least i will know what to do. Thanks!

  • Businesses usually fix the auspost sticker and the business sends you the tracking no by email, NOT austpost.

When the item is collected, which can be days later depending on how slack the business is, the driver scans the item and that is when it will first appear on the austpost site. Sometimes they are not scanned in at the pickup point but later at the distribution centre so there would be a further delay.

Most people blame aust post for this stuff around but some businesses wait until they have a heap of orders to ship before they contact austpost. Sounds like you happened to choose to deal with a slack business??

The OP stated it was a pair of jeans.

  • my most practical advice is to wear your existing jeans for a while longer
