Low End 55" TV - Recommendation

Hi all,

I'm in the market for a cheapie 55' TV. It will only be used to watch FTA, no DVD or bluray. I'm currently tossing up between these 3 models. Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

From above only Soniq is 100Hz frequency. So should be better. Not sure about the price /deal.

  • I saw a special on harvey norman today.
50" panasonic Full HD LED TV for $747.
it's about $100 above the low end models you've mentioned but panasonic is a good brand.
following is the link (the RRP is $878).

  • I have a Kogan 55", unsure if its 100Hz model, a bit of lightbleed in the corners, dark scenes sometimes don't look great, and not brilliant for fast sports, but overall its good. Most low end models, even from reputable brands, have similar issues, I'm told.

  • Of those 3 the only one I would consider is the soniq, the other two I would not touch with a barge pole.
It looks good value for the money. Comparable sets would go for around $150+ more.

I got a 50" Panasonic a few months back and made the mistake of getting a 50hz set… big mistake with large screen sets. For your 55" make sure it is 100hz.

I would not recommend the Panasonic btw.
