Lol, I quickly cancelled my Amazon order and add this in so to save shipping fee.

I was in Melbourne city when I was caught out with my camera but my SD camera card was left at home next to my PC. I went looking for a cheap card in Target and Telstra shop as I was no where near JB etc.. and my friend does not want to walk far. They are selling a slow 32G card at this price.

How much do you have to spend to save the shipping fee?

      Also, Thanks wowoyu.

Donkey Kong, you made part of my childhood exciting and fun, knowing I could play you when I went to my best friends house!Thank you for being you.

I have a few large photographic items so it is free as this item is small and light.

Yeah, my uncle bought me the Nintendo Donkeykong Portable Console in the 80s and it was so amazing in those day, LOL. Now, McDonald is giving out similar console for free, although cheaply made, with kid's meal.

  • I can only warn others about Lexar and their speed promises. I own a 32GB class 10 card from them and found it unusable for recording video on my DSLR. After a few seconds the video is aborted each time because the card can't handle the amount of data. Mind you, the camera only requires a class 6 card and my Lexar does not even deliver that…

    The bad one: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/63431

I will never buy that brand again.

    • It's a microSD card, it's not the same thing as a full size SD.

      • +4

This is a microSD and so was the one I bought 2 years ago.

In either case if Lexar make speed promises they better keep them, and class 10 means that it should be able to handle continuous writes at 10MB/s. If it fails to cope with a 4.5 MB/s data stream (that's all that comes from my DSLR), it over-promised a fair bit.

    • Sounds like you bought a dud. I've had duds from other brands before, e.g. sandisk. It's just bad luck.

I'm buying this because its recommended for GoPro use, will see how it goes:

Some of the class 10 cards are optimised for sequential read/write (and they crippled the random read/write so much the random read/write is inferior than class 6 cards). While one would expect DSLR video would rely more on sequential read/write, I found that SD cards with really poor random read/write won't be able to handle 1080p video.

Low end class 10 cards are all like that. That's one of the reasons why the U1, U3 classification is introduced.

    • I have a 600x which is slower then this and write is 45mb/s, enough for 4k

Lexar's are one of the few micro sd recommended to use with the gopro.

I got a 600x and it works fine on my gopro 3+ black,

    • I have the 600x and I cant work out how they get the 95mb/s I've said it before here that I use it in a Toshiba Encore and only get 20mb/s :/ so the Encore must have a really slow sd card reader.

do you need a new usb3 reader to get 95mb/s ?

      • I'm guessing you need a reader that supports UHS-3 to attain those speeds. Wonder if the bundled USB3 reader has this?

The minimum write speed for UHS-3 is 30MB/s so it should support sustained 4K rec.

edit: The reviews from buyers on Amazon state they all received UHS-1 cards for 64GB ver.

        • Seems you are right (UHS-1) might as well buy cheaper on Ebay.

  • As for smartphones i wonder what speed the internal microSD card readers support. I suspect they're just about all run off a USB2 interface and are USB2 speed… ie max about 30 MB/s. So this is probably only useful in 4k cameras that need and support it.

  • I got this card for AU$80 in JB a few weeks ago (sticker price is $130+), $60 is a great price.

  • Damn… I just bought a Samsung microSD Pro 64gb. I should have waited!

    • Looking at the Amazon reviews of both, the Samsung seems to perform better. Assuming it's the newer white/grey Pro card.

    • Im looking at getting a Pro one too. The speeds are about as fast as this lexar one, and cheaper

Last Lexar product I got from Ozb was a USB3 drive that lasted 2 weeks, only had used it twice and it would no longer show up in any PC..

    • +1

I am the same problem (USB3 drive) , also only use for a few weeks.

  • Great find. Mind you, it comes just hours after I buy a couple of the 32GB SDHC cards from my DSLRs. Ugh!

  • Wondering if it work with smartphone/tablet with same read write speed?

  • USB 2.0:
    Sequential write speed range = 4~10 MB/s
    Sequential read speed range = 15~25 MB/s

    USB 3.0:
Sequential write speed range =10~20 MB/s
    Sequential read speed range = 40~50 MB/s

So you'll need usb 3 to take advantage of the speed.

  • wud this work on the cheap lumia 530 i bought last week?

    • +1

Yes, but it will not be able to take advantage of USB 3 speed.
