    …and the bargain element is?

  • +5

The 32gb LTE model is coming soon too and will priced at $719 which seems a bit steep.

HTC themselves had them for $199 2 days ago. Limited stock and region restricted, but with the bar set so low paying $400 for the tablet elsewhere just seems wrong

Yea…pretty sure that was a once off and only in the USA.

      • +4

Of course, but paying $400 when it has been on sale for $199 would leave a sour taste behind.

      • Not a once off actually, apparently they are planning to re-stock

"We hope you were one of the many who got to enjoy the savings this time, but if not please do check back weekly."

    • That's basically half price. Why were HTC selling it for so cheap?

      • It was only 100 units or something. Not a real sale.

      • It was sold that cheap to introduce 'HTC Deals' something on their US Accessory site.

this should belong in forum discussion

Not tempted really. When a Surface Pro 2 can be had for $640, an android tablet just doesn't stack up.

    • Yeah at around double the weight, may as well be lugging around a laptop.

Did not see any bargain-ist aspects of the Nex 9 price but…
The site lists the price of the Nex 6 and they are right up there with the iPhone 6, ie, OMFG expensive. Makes the OnePlus look like an absolute steal.
Also, I did not see the Nex 7 tablet on the site so I would expect them to be run out soon, possibly at a discount price.
There is always a bargain to be found somewhere…

    • They haven't been selling the Nexus 7 2013 models for quite a while….I know cause I've been wanting to buy one :(

This tablet is pricey enough but the Nexus 6 is bonkers expensive!
    Not a bargain

It doesn't seem like a bargain, but buying this locally is cheaper than importing from overseas. Since buying from overseas was the only was to purchase it for a while, this local RRP is now the cheapest way to acquire this model.

As usual, every time a new Nexus line is made available on Google Play, we will debate whether it is a deal or not.

    I don't this is a deal. Forums.

  • Standard price, no deal

    Not even free delivery.

The reviews on Nexus 9 haven't been all that great. Despite the monster specs and running on Lollipop, it apparently still show signs of lag - that's pretty disappointing….

    • Yeah, the review published on The Verge was of rather low quality.

      • +7

The Verge provides the most bias reviews for android devices generally - it's like they were sponsored by Apple lol

  • +1

rrp, mixed reviews, poor cheap build quality, not really a bargain.

  • Nice device I'm sure but waaay too expensive. 32GB might not enough if you're planning on using this as a media tab.
    Also questions about build remain.

  • 32gb isn't enough and reviews are pretty negative (discounting Verge because of their bias and relying on Androidpolice)

I don't see it having enough to justify the price, stock android or not.
