I'm looking for some advice around prices for hinged built in robes in Adelaide. We have a Victorian villa with 4 metre ceilings. I am looking for a heritage style hinged built in robe around 2.3 metres long and 2.7 metres high. 2 pack gloss finish. Internals fairly basic (2 x robes with upper and lower hangers, and 2 x robes with adjustable shelving).
So far, I've had 4 companies out to quote (2 x larger chains, and 2 smaller companies), plus a couple of online quotes. The cheapest quote has been $4,800 GST inclusive, and most quotes have been around $5,500 GST incl up to $7,100 GST inclusive.
This seems like a huge amount to pay for one wardrobe. Does anyone have any suggestions of cheap cabinet makers or other options we could explore? I'd be open to considering sliding robes if they are significantly cheaper at this point.

We used Image Robes,
they are roller not hinged,
we paid $2200 i think (i cant check for 6 days), For a similar size, All mirrored, + we got extra shelf on the top part half way along…
We looked at a few of the big name, And didnt like the cheap look,
We are SOOOO happy with the product from image…
They have a show room at pooraka, It was a big drive for us, But so glad did, Cuz we could see the quality and designs, Its a bit hard doing it from photos that sales guy has in folder…
