Wii U - Pricing

Will the Wii U console be receiving a price cut to reflect the US cut? Or are we stuck paying the Australia Tax this holiday season? Looking to buy a 32gb console, with MK8 if possible but otherwise standard is fine.

Despite there being no evidence as of yet, I have a theory that we'll see a Smash bundle by Christmas. Maybe MK8 and SSB for $349-$400.

But I also thought that E3 would announce a Wii-U exclusive Megaman, so what do I know?

(I also predicted a Wii-U StarFox game, which happened, so, 50/50 chance.)

ALSO, I'm not sure where we're at in terms of Amiibos: Gamestop and other American sites show a free Amiibo packagaed with Super Smash Brothers, and I can't find any evidence for such a thing in Australia. I realize you didn't ask that, but just voicing my concerns about potential Australia tax :3

  • Australia Tax blows chunks… But cheers for the reply

I've been hunting for one since August, still no luck but I'm hoping that the premium will drop to around $300-350 during Christmas! Really want one for Mario Kart 8 and the upcoming Zelda game :D

I too have been looking for a good bundle lately due to the urge to play Mario Kart and the upcoming Super Smash Bros.

Decided to wait till mid December or so and if nothing, I'll most likely pick up the bundle at EB Games for $429 with Mario Kart/Nintendo Land/some party sport game

I have still seen plenty of the Skylanders basic bundles floating around K-Mart stores for $178, might be worth trying your local one.

    • I looked in Melton but found nothing, I will check out Geelong way tomorrow. Where have you seen them floating around as I am looking for one at the moment and your post is the most recent saying there are still bundles out there?

I have seen them in Hastings and Shepparton. Hope that helps.
