"WTF Dude" Steam Virus/Malware?

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know that there's a steam virus or some sort of malware going around. I just got hit with it as well as I thought a mate was sending me a screenshot or something (snap judgement - pretty stupid on my end I know) which was in a form of a link. Nothing has happened to my account yet (early days) but I was on my mac so hopefully since people are reporting it on windows only, I'm in the clear.

    So, you make a post about a "steam virus", say that it comes through a link, and then post a link.

    Certainly an interesting method to go about it.

      Well the link is for "more info", why would I post a link to would be bad? I was simply trying to get the word out, sorry you didn't like the warning, just ignore my post :)

    Microsoft has already released a patch to address the issue. From what I understand, the virus is able to acquire your account credentials, so if you're hit by this make sure you change your password and, if possible, email.
