Medibank Hornsby NSW: Free Gift When You Undertake a Health Cover Consultation

90

Medibank Hornsby are doing a "Free Health Cover Health Check" service and rewarding those who undergo this service with one of three free gifts:

  • double pass movie tickets
  • $20 Eftpos gift card
  • 5000 flybuys points ($25 in value)

The "checkup" is basically a consultation with one of their staff about your health needs e.g. Do you claim for optical, dental, physio, chiro etc. I'm already a Medibank member so my consultation involved checking whether I was on the most appropriate cover given my needs and age, but I think they will also do a consultation if you're not a Medibank member and probably try to sign you up as well.

You do not have to switch plans or switch to Medibank to get the free gift.

The only catch is you need to bring in the flyer shown in the photo, but there were plenty of young people handing them out in Westfield Hornsby this morning and I also spotted a big stack on the counter of the Indian spice shop on the outside of Westfield near the fountain.

The store usually closes at 1pm on Saturday, but they had a sign saying they were open until 4pm today.

  • They should do this for all branches.

  • Where about are the people handing out the flyers?

I got mine just outside Thomas Dux, near the escalators. Then later on I saw one handing out to people at Jamaica Blue (there's 2 Jamaica Blues, this is the one closer to David Jones)

They were wearing red Medibank T-shirts.

      • I think they're gone for today. None to be found.

Then try the Indian supermarket called something like "Indian Bazaar" on the outside of Westfield on Florence St. There was a whole stack of them at the front counter.

That's where I got my second flyer to photograph for OzBargain.

        • @uggugg: do you think I'd need to buy something or can you just grab one?
Edit: that sounded so cheap (I guess that's why I'm on ozbargain). I bought some tea I wanted anyway and got one.

          @verapa:

The store owner seems very nice, I'm sure he wouldn't mind.

But if you're still nervous about it, there's a display of Indian cakes and sweets near by, you could look at them and then pick up a flyer as if it just caught your eye.

  • I work at the optometrist opposite Jb Hi Fi in Westfield Hornsby.
The other day the Medibank people came around and gave us about 200 flyers. I threw them all out thinking it was junk =\
Maybe I will ask Medibank for some more so you guys can come pick it up from my store.

    • It is junk: it's medibank.
I used to be with them a few years ago… Horrible service, crap limits. You're better off with an industry type organisation. After all, all the advertising Medibank does has to be paid somehow…. And it's your premiums doing that,
