Any Good Smash Bros. and Gamecube Adaptor bundle Deals?

I haven't seen any other than the eBay one which I was too late for. At the moment the best I can find is at JB for $89, which with the 20% off voucher goes down to $71.20. EB Games has it for $89.95, I haven't seen a thing from Target or Big W and it seems I might have to wait until release day but I'm afraid they'll have it near RRP as well. $71.20 from JB isn't actually that bad but considering Big W and Target will probably have the base game for $58 I'd kinda hoped they would have a deal for a bit less than $70.

  • The 20% voucher doesn't work on preorders…so you're kind of gambling on the chance that it'll still be around by release (EB Games has delisted it already).

    • I still see it on there website, it still has the option to add to cart and preorder, or am I seeing something? I'll have to try my luck on release date I guess at JB Hi-Fi. If I can't find it then maybe I'll get it from ozgameshop

      • Oh, I thought it was sold out, my mistake. But still, good luck getting a better price (not really sure there'll be any retailer who will do a bargain on it).

  • Would it be too cheeky to preorder it in store then in one hit cancel preorder and buy a copy, that way you reserve a copy with your preorder and get discount. Im glad i got my copy on the ebay 20% off sale and am not in this situation

    • That would be worth a try. I could walk out and come back a minute later and say I changed my mind. If it doesn't work, then I'll get it from Big W and I'll get the adaptor from Nintendo, ends up at $88 so it's all good.

  • I think only JB and EB stock the game + adapter bundle.

Went to EB after work today and can confirm that they are no longer taking pre-orders on the bundle anymore, sold out within first week of pre-ordering.
They still have a few units left on their online store however:

Big W has it for $58 during their weekly sale starting from 27th Nov. I guess you can buy them separately. Though the EB guy roughly estimated the adapter itself is around $40.

    • You can't buy the adapter alone from EB, but Nintendo is selling it directly for $30.

  • I asked at two JB Hi-Fis and they're still taking preorders, I guess it's just not available to buy online. I'm going to buy the adaptor separately anyway because I won't be able to preorder during the week, except maybe Thursday and it'll be probably be too late, and I doubt I'll be able to find one on Saturday. Ozgameshop is out of stock as well.

  • The price of the adaptor has skyrocketed in the us and online due to shortages so preordering it may be a good choice unless you dont mind waiting

    • Nintendo Australia is selling it directly though and isn't likely to gouge us like that, even if we pay $30 AUD for it compared to $20 USD.

  • Looks Target finally gave us a deal, can you pre order from Target? Cause I could do so today.

  • Target doesn't have Smash available for preorder. Do I have to wait until the catalogue comes out perhaps? How does it work at Target? Otherwise I'm calling Nintendo tomorrow.

  • If you preorder at JB you could always only pay a deposit, then when you go to pick it up after release get them to apply the 20% off coupon then.

I've had preorders price-matched when picking up (before paying the balance owing), so presumably they could do the coupon in the same way?

Edit: You'd have to have a valid coupon, and those 20% ones only last for a week. Maybe re-sign up again just before you collect the game so you have a valid one.

    • The coupons are all generic and I can't preorder until Thursday and even then I might not be able to, and I'm afraid I'll be too late by then.

      • Edit: nevermind.
