    lol i can't believe anyone would pay $500 for a fan :)

It would need to be when you can buy a pedestal fan for $12 from Big W. How exactly is it $537 better?

Here I am thinking $12 is expensive… Cashback?

Keep telling yourself that…. I would have it set up as a shrine in the corner and for $700 it better come with 3 wishes too.

        • lol. it does have its own corner.

      • It looks pretty, but it moves less air than the a $12 fan?

        • I've got a few $12 fans at home. They do ok and I think they move just as much, if not more air than what I have seen of these Dysons. Personally, I think these Dyson fans look quite ugly, but that's just me. I've got a $40 mistral 4-bladed pedestal on right now next to me at full speed, and its almost silent. Can barely hear it. Can understand if $500+ fan buys you some fantastic new technology that can't be matched by anything else, but I just don't see it with these. Oh well :)

        • theres actually chinese companies thats replicating this tech.

          here y'all go. much cheaper.

  • Does it make me sandwiches or something?

I think your looking for the 'Dyson GF'. Problem is unless you feed it a necklace every few months it stops blowing.

mmmm $500 fan or portable aircon,,, fan or aircon,,, hmmmmmm decisions decisions

    • $70 evaporative cooler from Target did the trick for me:

      www.target.com.au/p/target-tarpec2-portable-evaporative-cool…

Out of stock online but the last 2 stores I went to had a couple each. I'm impressed with the performance (has anion feature too)…for $70, I recommend it.

  • I dont know why but whenever I walk past one of these that is running in a store, they seem to be incredibly weak in terms of actual airflow compared to a standard spinning blade style fan? Ill take my $129 trade tools industrial fan over this any day, although it doesnt look as cool, and it takes up more space, but it certainly makes you cooler :)

These Dyson fans are the biggest marketing con out. I got the Hot N Cold one recently thinking (based on owning the good cordless vac) that it surely would have something the other din't - like being able to run very slow and quiet - just a waft. No - they are loud and just a fan. The only difference is no visible blades so cleaning is easier (like it was such a chore with a standard fan).

The only reason to buy these is to keep Mr Dyson in Bentleys.

  • These are a lovely fan, they dont have the raw force of a big industrial fan etc and yes its dearer then it should be but it has a beautiful design and puts out a good airflow.

I've been waiting for a deal for one of these because they're just so over priced. Best I've seen is 30% off Dyson @ Myer. Waiting to get a good price so I can get the $50 off with AMEX at Myer but I dont think @ $500 this is it.
