A friend is getting married near Milan, Italy on July 18 2015. I'm from Sydney. Due to my lack of annual leave (5 week trip in March/April) i'm not sure if i can go. If i can go, it will be only for about two weeks (or less). Something like leaving Sydney 14/15 July and leaving Milan 25 July, or a variation of that plus/minus a day or two ensuring that i'm there for 18 July.
I've seen some flights for just under $2K. Some of them have a lot of layovers and take a long time to get there. Anyone able to suggest a good compromise between flight duration and price? Preferably under 30 hours all up.

Thanks. I have some time before the actual dates of everything are confirmed so i'll have a look at these sites. I'm considering flying into Rome and out of Milan or something, depending on where i decide to go, so hopefully i find a decent deal :)
My plan at the moment is to fly to Rome on 10 July (preferably night time so i can go to work that day) and then fly back to Sydney from Venice on 23 July. Looks like emirates/qantas is my only option, and emirates is $2372 for this flight. Not sure if i'll find anything cheaper, since Venice is not as popular to fly out of. Maybe i'll price flying out of Milan, but that would mean catching the train from Venice to Milan on the last day, which is kinda annoying.
