PS4 vs PC for FIFA 15

Hey Ozbargainers!

In a bit of a pickle, my boyfriend wants FIFA 15. However, he's a PC Gamer and prefers that, but it seems like its only on Origin and buying a key seems a little weird as an actual present. My 2nd option is to buy a PS4 with FIFA 15 so that for the rest of the series he can just buy it on PlayStation. Just wondering from an OBJECTIVE point of view as to what to do. As he doesn't mind PlayStation, but prefers PC, and dislikes Xbox altogether.

This is NOT a discussion to stir trouble between Consoles VS PC. Please keep it relevant.

Really need help since the sales are upcoming!

Does he play with a controller on PC?

    • Yes, he does. A PS3 Controller.

      • then definitely PC, a PS4 would be a downgrade to him

        • Do you know what rig he has?

        • @Where's_That_Cake:

Laptop; ACER, 2GB Nvidia 840M, i7-4th Gen (unsure which model), 8GB RAM. Not sure if it'd be suited for FIFA 15.

        • @DAOtmc: Its a decent laptop and will likely play at 720p at a good frame rate but I reckon you should go the PS4 as its gonna have a lot longer shelf life than that laptop in terms of gaming.

  • Ps4 imo.

  • PS4, especially if he wants to play online modes, theres just a lot more players.

However, to play online, you need Playstation Plus which is $69.95 rrp, but you do get 2 free games a month.

    • Forgot to mention, controller is better too (unless he has one for PC).

  • Forget it, show your bf your knowledge of football by telling him that FIFA is just the same old game as 14 and is as annoying and as scripted as ever and instead buy him PES 2015 on PS4 as it is a far superior football game, they both have the same metacritic score but unlike EA, Konami got their scores based on merit.

Nah, a football fan a football game.

I usually buy FIFA myself, PES is back on top this year after several years of meh.

    best girlfriend ever…. :(

  • It's more popular and therefore easier to find a game online (ultimate team) with playstation.

  • Stick with Origin key. Pc version. If hes a pc gamer. Give it to him on pc.

  • WOW! That's a first. I was going to say, you should be able to buy a physical copy of FIFA 15 on PC, but did a quick search and you can't.

PS4 would be a good investment. FIFA 15 will have more players.

It's a all round media player device.

Attach it to a bigger screen and have his mates come over and play.

PC would be a better investment
where does it say PS4 has more online players???

PC is a way better media device the xbox one or ps4.
and can attach it to any size screen you can throw at it.

your arguments are bad and you should feel bad.

not really, i have a wii u and ps3 and a pc and a new 3ds. im just speaking from experience.

        • @Karlos101: I have all the consoles (except xbone) and a decent rig but some people like myself just prefer a console.
Granted the PS4 is not a media device other than BRD player its just that Chromecast and WDTV do this stuff perfectly anyway so why worry?

        • @Where's_That_Cake:
if one has a powerful gaming rig + gaming controller
isnt it pretty much the exact same as a console but MUCH higher quality graphics?

(which i find very important in terms of gaming)

        • @darknnation: It entirely depends on whether one wants a PC in there living room and also whether one prefers to use one unified network or have to use several such as Steam, Origin and Ubi just to pay a game. I've got maybe 200 or so Steam games (not a lot I know) but I struggle to enjoy the experience, I find myself using it only when necessary (a game that isn't on consoles for instance)
