I read that as the coupon can't be used on sale items.
It says free ship to Aus for a limited time, don't think you need the code for it.
Yes coupon code cannot be used. I've just tested and you still get free shipping for sale items (save £15).

The free shipping has been pretty crap recently. Waited a month for a package to be received only to be told that there had been an issue and it wasn't dispatched. Got a full refund but none of the items were still available to buy in the sale.
Funny that I'd a similar experience with them once.
I tried kids shoes in the sale items and it would not work for free shipping as the coupon says.

Edit : my bad didn't see the schoolware exclusion . You can't get schoolwear at all it seems .
This isn't that generous an offer when you consider that M&S don't need to charge 20% VAT on sales to outside the European Union..
