Olympus 45m 1.8 black for $249 after cash back from http://gerrygibbscamerawarehouse.com.au/mirrorless-compact-c…

      • Worth noting $17.95 for delivery and $50 more for the silver model. But this is a good price if you want black and live nearby for pickup. Im buying a silver one and flying soon so this works well for me.

Sweet, $200 for the 45mm I bought last week ;)

    • Pretty sure the promotion is from today or two days ago. Id check but Olympus has pulled the page.

      • This is from CameraPro - Purchase an eligible Olympus Lens from CameraPro Australia between 24th November 2014 and 31st January 2015.

        • The rep from Plaza Cameras told me this "Once you get your lens your will be able to take up the $50 cash back that Olympus Australia are offering. (We have doubled checked this with Olympus). "

        • @tomtoms91: well maybe they will give you a dodgy receipt with a different date. Good luck if you can :)

        • @clarky: Ill find out soon, its in the post. Will report back!

  • No cashback on the new 40-150mm Telephoto Pro lens :(
IMHO, if you get the 12-40mm Pro, you can save money on some of the prime lenses in that focal range for the new ultra-wide or telephoto Pro lenses, unless of course you have specific needs such as very low light photography or portrait.

Need to start hunting for best price for the 25mm 1.8

  • Anyone have any experience with the 75-300mm? All the reviews seem pretty good and I can't quite justify the $1600 for the 40-150mm with the 1.4x teleconverter.

    Thanks OP!

I like it. I've taken some great photos with it paired with an E-M1.

My tip is to assign a button to 2x digital zoom which turns it into 600mm lens (1200mm full-frame equivalent). This helps when taking photos of small objects such as small birds. Doing this works so much better than just enlarging the photo afterwards. 2x digital works well on all the Olympus lenses I've tried (45mm, 60mm, 75mm & 75-300mm) except the 12-40mm Pro which doesn't look good for whatever reason.

Nothing compares though to the new 40-150mm. Apparently that lens is out of this world. It's the best m43 lens ever made & the best zoom lens Olympus has ever made ever. If you can justify it, get that lens. If you can't, get the 75-300mm. If you learn to use it properly you'll take some fantastic photos.

  • I bought a 12-40 pro 3 weeks ago, can I still get the cashback?
