Im heading to America in Febuary, looking to do the same thing. Or would it be chaepaer to purchase in USA…? not sure what their pricing is, what the exchange rate will be then, and if a US purchased phone will work here. Looking for a 6 64GB
i6 with 64GB appears to be USD 749. Pretty sure apple's website price excludes state tax so it depends on which state you are buying the iphone in i think. For e.g. New York City charges an 8.875% tax which takes the price up to USD 815. If you use a 28 degrees card at today's rate of AUD 1 = USD 0.815 (cries…) that's AUD 1,000. Might be best to get it here in Australia and claim GST back.
yeah the way the AU has tanked in the last month, it would be cheaper to buy it here and claim the $91 TRS, having said that, I did lock in 6k USD a while ago and got almost 91us cents to the AUD. Ive made about 1000 AUD profit if I were to exchange those USD for AUD now, but Vegas is calling in Feb!!!
Nice..make it rain Dan Bilzerian style. :) Back in Sept, we left NYC on the day the AUD started its downward slide from 89 cents. Don't think we will be seeing such good exchange rates for a while.. if ever.
just bought iphone 6 plus 16 gb at Apple Store penrith for $999. i couldn't find any cheaper.Good Luck to you though…
