Which 1080p Projector Should I Buy? W1070+?

My Acer H5360 just broke (one week after the warranty expired…) and I am looking for a new projector. Might as well upgrde to 1080p.

I do need a projector that works in a bright room. My Acer was lying upside down on a shelf and projected onto the opposite wall (4m) which resulted in an image roughly 3m wide. This setup worked really well. I basically need a projector which has the same ratio as the Acer H5360, but being brighter would help a lot with a size like that.

It seems like the BenQ W1070+ is not a bad projector.

    What do you use it for?

    If everyday or lots, consider long lamp life and cost per hour comparsion for replacement ones perhaps?

    What's your budget? $1,500 or $3,000 or even $5,000?!

    Optoma, Epson and JVC make nice projectors. And Sony. Can't rec a specific model though.

    I also factor in power use/eco and quiet and cool with enough lumens for the room.

    Then it's down to volume/size and weight.

    My budget is quite low (1000 to 1200). I mainly use it for watching movies in the evening (every day). The room can be darkened a bit, but especially in summer it is still quite bright.

    hmm sorry but so what if your warranty has finished.. you are covered by australian consumer warranty.. go to the website and have a read
    1. your contract is with the seller.. not manufacturer
    2. warranty extends by law to reasonable time of use from item..(this is the legal liabilty of the seller) i assume u had a 1 year warranty? well they should last a few years so it is COVERED.
    3. the seller will try to mess you around so print out the info from consumer website and show them. they know the rules but will try to con you.
    4.no need buying a new pj.. YOU STILL HAVE A WARRANTY

      I believe this is called statutory warranty,
      (which as he says above, Is different to manufactures warranty)

      The idea is, You would'nt buy a projector for $1200, If you knew it would break 1 week after the warranty finished..

      W1070 is a great budget 3d projector, I got one displaying at 126" and would buy another one if it broke! Looks amazing with PS4!
