Get Back Stolen Phone

The story is: My friend broke up with her boyfriend and he took my friend some belongings.
He's been using her facebook to talk bad things about her. My friend gave me her icloud and we know exactly where the phone and her belongings are(location is provided by icloud. The question is: will the police help her to get her belongings back if we show them where the phone is? Is he committed a crime here if found holding her belongings illegally such as id,phone, money, wallet?
Sorry my english isnt good enough :)

  • Is he committed a crime here if found holding her belongings illegally such as id,phone, money, wallet?

Yes. But getting a search is another thing.

  • You should give him a reasonable amount of time to return the belongings - at least a few days.

Keep copies of messages proving you calmly asked for the belongings and he didn't give them back.
Take screenshots of his abusive messages on Facebook.

Go to the police station closest to where the phone is, prepared with printed copies of these and ask for help.
If you are prepared and polite, and show you made several attempts to fix the problem yourself, they will help.

Depending how many and how abusive the messages on facebook are, and how long he takes to return the belongings he could be charged with a crime for either. But he will probably only get a warning unless it is repeat behaviour.

  • Police will usually advise you its a civil matter and that they cant get involved.

    • Yes just be patient and hopefully the Police will apprehend him for speeding.

  • Take him to court? You won't need a lawyer for a small claim.
