Basically, Gyft allows you to buy gift cards from US merchants. However, it seems they've restricted it to the US so it may or may not work. Give it a try.
I created an account, was able to use the promo code, and paid via Paypal AU account however Gyft said the payment is pending and would take up to 24 hours to clear.
Fortunately, I have a US credit card so I tried the above with Google Play attached to US address and CC (so I can get the $5 Toys R US card). That also got pending and would take up to 24 hours. The Toys R Us gift card only works in the US so no point for Australians.
Basically, you go into Gyft using the app or website and your Amazon card will be there. You just click reveal code and they'll give you a code which you can enter into Amazon.
I'll update this thread once I get confirmation yay or nay but may be worth giving it whirl. I assume the $5 Gyft credit will be applicable for another gift card.
Gyft appears to be a big company (or its parent company is) and has featured in Techcrunch.
