I want to buy a brand new DC23 Motorhead

RRP is $1099 and I can get it for $950 from Myer without trying.

Hoping to get it down to around $800….

  • I'm not sure if this is the exact same model, but perhaps you can get it off the internet for $623 + $20 postage?

  • I would think that $885 delivered could be the cheapest one from the internet in Australia at the moment - although as the AUD is currently buying .86 USD there may be some value in looking abroad such as this one for about $700 AUD:

… I'm not sure however how much extra it would be for mail forwarding, plus there could be other complications such as voltage and of course the wall plug.

  • I've been asking around and the best price so far is $860 at Harvey Norman SupaCenta.

  • Thanks Jarris and inherentchoice

I can get a DC23 Turbine for $650 at Harvey Norman Gordon - but would prefer the motorhead.

The best price they will offer for the motorhead is $909 (in catalogue at the moment for $999).

Myer have 15% off vacuum cleaners which brings the motorhead down to around $892 without bargaining.

    • That was $860 for the motorhead

  • fyi: I have the DC23 and quite frankly, I hate it! My husband bought it for me so he could pinch my old one. Not sure what model it was - 9 year old green & purple model - which I loved (and I hate vacuuming with a passion!) I find the DC23 very heavy and cumbersome. The wand is very heavy and hardly has any adjustment in it's length. The barrell fills up very quickly and is very difficult to empty. It doesn't seem to have any adjustment to reduce the suction. (If there is, I havn't found it yet.) It does, however, do a very good job. Probably too good! I am beginning to think I'll have no carpet left in a couple of years time. I'm sure it is pulling out all the carpet fibres as well as the dirt! Just make sure you give it a test drive before you purchase to make sure it is what you want.

    • Hi My2c

My ex-wife has the same one you are referring to - I believe that is a DC08.

I'll give the DC23 a try before buying - thanks for the heads up
