ok…so i have a 20 plan with telechoice, and have a xiaomi 1s, and think that because i constantly get dropped to 2g rather than 3g in many areas is because i now found out that telstra 3g has 850mhz band which xiaomi doesnt support….other than getting new phone or a plan with optus does anyoneknow if i could fix this?? is there a way to get the phone to work with 3g 850mhz….or a way to cancel telechoice plan free( which i highly doubt would be allowed)

The phone is 900/2100 WCDMA it's a hardware limitation. Either get a new handset that supports 850/2100 or better yet quad band.
Or pay out the etc and move to optus.
Weigh up what costs less. But frankly it'd stick to Telstra coverage and get a new phone.
