Cheapest Place to Find iPod Touch 32GB?

Hi fellow bargain-hunters,
I am but a poor teen, with a small income at a KFC store in Brisbane.
I really want an iPod touch (8GB is too small, so 32GB is the lowest I'd get), but I'm a little tight for cash.
I would really appreciate help in finding the cheapest iPod Touch possible. :)
Thank-you guys (and gals) so much, I really appreciate it.

Thanks again,
Rory

    online refurb store?

  • I don't understand, what are these refurb stores?

refurbs are essentially warranty returned ipods that have been 'fixed', air cleaned, then the outside cover is replaced, packaged and sold off at a lower price. They come with new headphones/usb cord etc, however the box is not the retailer style, its a brown box. Refurbs can be upto 2 years old, depending on the model of course. I personally dont think they're worth it, but others think the world of them

      • So what is bad about them?

As far as I know the only online refurb store is the official Apple one.

What is so bad about refurbs?
That all depends on why they were returned in the first place. A refurb unit might wear out quicker than a brand new one. On the other hand they do come with a 12 month warranty from Apple.

I get the impression that they've stopped making 16GB models and the newer versions are only 8GB or 32GB?

Anyway I see that Dick Smith has them at $329 "REDUCED TO CLEAR" at the moment, but only at certain stores. Not sure if that's a good price or not, but if you're interested just go to http://www.dse.com.au and search A3959, then click availablility and they list the 20 odd QLD stores that still have stock.

  • Is there are difference between buying one from a US site?
    Is there regions, etc?

no, because the all charge through usb. so any ipod will work anywhere

Unless you have a friend going to america, they usually work out the same sort of price, because USPS postage is expensive

  • Okay, thanks for all your help.
I don't think Refurb is the way to go, because its only the old models, and they have a 32GB 2nd Gen for $399, whilst the 3rd gen 32GB new is the same price.
It seems the cheapest I'll get it at is JB Hi-Fi, so I guess I'll have to try there.
    Thanks everyone.
