TPG Fibre to The Building (FTTB) Unlimited for $59.99

Just today we have mail from TPG in the mailbox saying that TPG FTTB is available for our building in Syd CBD. (Finally, NBN you are way too slow!) Though I think most buildings in CBD still don't have either TPG or NBN yet.

The plan is $59.99 with unlimited national calls and 100mins international calls (18month contract).
Has anyone tried it yet? It says the speed is FROM 50mbps to 100mbps, which sounds really good.

There's a big thread on whirlpool about it if you want more info.
I'm in a building with both NBN and TPG FTTB, myself and many others chose TPG because its the same NBN speed but cheaper.
Getting around 93mbps down/40ish up, rock steady.

    • your speeds are alright but i think my 2mb/s down and 1 up is much better

Handy guide of which buildings have it now or soon.
My building has it but I don't want to sign up for 18month contract or pay $100fee for no contract as i'm planning to move out after the lease ends in a few months :/

Great to hear TPG is continuing with FTTB. F&*k you Tony Abbott, and a double f&*k you to Malcolm Turnbull.

TPG are picking the profitable eyes out from nbn, hence why they are doing it and charging less.

If u live in a apartment complex you are cheaper to service, there are economies of scale to a whole apartment block, you won't see tpg offering it to a individual free standing house in a suburb.

      • That's fine with me. I prefer having no NBN while we wait for the subject to be revisited by a competent government rather than FTTN. Until then, companies directly competing with and putting huge financial, legislative and competitive pressure on NBN Co (and in turn the Abbott government) is wonderful.

Just an update about my sign up process. Signed up 2 days ago and the technician just arrived today and set it up.
Speed is 94mbps down and 38.5 up, from the previous 17.5 down 0.9 up (ADSL). Quite happy with the speed.
