  • Should go tubeless if you're that unlucky! I read they're bulletproof. Apparently you don't need tubeless rims. Any clincher will do as long as the tyre was designed specifically for tubeless. I think the secret to their resilient to puncture is the self sealing solution that you add before inflating the tyre.

    • Tubeless for MTB, but in the road give me tubes or tubular!

      • Tubeless tires are now available for road bikes. For example Hutchinson. Not cheap.

        • Yeah I know they are available, but i don't see the benefit?
Extra cost, limited tyre choice, etc
With MTB the lower pressures afforded by tubeless, far outweigh the inconvenience.
Could you imaging the spray of stans if you punchure a tubless road tyre at 110psi until (if?) it seals!

    Trustworthy and extremely dependable,

Then why on earth would I want twenty of them?!

    • Because glass and thorns don't care how trustworthy and dependable your tubes are.

      • glass and thorns don't care how trustworthy and dependable your tubes are.

OK, tubes are tubes, so in what sense are they "Trustworthy and extremely dependable" - why say it then?
But actually, you are wrong. Thicker tubes will have fewer thorn punctures, but are heavier. It is dishonest to say you can be both ultralight and "extremely dependable".

True, what counts more is your tyres - get some decent ones, and stop being a weight-weenie.

    • Kew boulevard. Some pr*ck is still laying down tacks, you're pretty much guaranteed a puncture every 3rd lap
