iPhone 4S Smashed Screen

So I dropped my phone and smashed the screen. Repair agents where I live charge $100 to replace it. I don't know if it's worth it? I tried looking for a refurbished same model phone on the Apple website but they don't appear to have this model available.

Does anyone have any economical suggestions? Dropping my phone doesn't count! This phone was a gift and I feel even worse for it. Since the impact the "home" button doesn't work either. I have to switch the phone off and back on in order to switch between calling, sending a text message or just checking email!

    Screen costs $30 in parts off eBay to do - and all you need to do is follow an iFixit guide. Really simple thing to do. Hardly any room to stuff up.

    OP, if you were located in VIC, I'd do it for you at the cost of parts alone.

    pay for out of warranty service

    and sell the refurbished one on ebay

    then get a new phone

    :)

      There is no Apple store where I live but I'll see what I can find out about that on the Internet. Good idea! Thanks.

        you can send it via mail if i'm not mistaken.

        better search apple website for Out of warranty service.

        But need to pay for postage though.

    $69 dollars to fix it according to this repair shop. Obviously, it's in Sydney and you are in NT so it's not feasible for you.

    Watch some YT vids and learn to fix it yourself. Fixing stuff yourself can be a fun exercise.

    Easy to fix yourself for 25 bucks, if you're not a complete clod. Speaking of clods, my phone has been dropped and kicked down the road on too many occasions now, and incredibly still doesn't have a mark on it - gorilla glass screen I think (Nokia 1080). I know we all love our Apple products, but this thing is incredible, and I often wonder if Apple handhelds are justifiable anymore when other phones seem indestructible.
