Dan Murphy's Raising Prices before Christmas

Had a few things bookmarked that i was planning on ordering via Dan Murphy's website for chrissie, and these products have been the same price the last few weeks at least.

Today had a look, and everything i had taken notice of has been jacked up by $5

Unethical trollop if you ask me……

Op, could have bought it earlier when you saw it. Or maybe you were hoping it would get discounted? (if that's the case, is that unethical of you?, I'm n ot suggesting it is…)

haha, you may have a point

  • Yeah, look, outside of the products that Dan's put on special in the paper/catalogue, or on offer for My Dan Murphy's customers, their prices on basically everything else is no better than any of the other liquor retailers.

They are good for price matching though.

Out of curiosity, what products were you after OP?

  • Dan Murphy's prices fluctuate more than a yoyo

As a business, they have a right to set their prices.
As a consumer, you have a right to shop elsewhere.

Taking your username into consideration, Dan is not tha man?

danthaman, I have taken the liberty to contact the ACCC, FBI, Fair Trading, NSW Partliament and Today Tonight to advise them of this outrageous, unethical behaviour. Not only is it illegal to raise prices of products in our cart without consent, Dan's has the audacity to ruin Christmas for all via this vexatious violation of human rights

    • too far bro.

    • funny

  • Have you got any specific examples ?

  • Supply & Demand?

  • anyone would think alcohol is like petrol, fluctuating with demand and/or holiday periods…….. dont think so.

It's not unethical unless A Current Affair specifically raises the issue.

  • Unless alcohol is an necessity for living it is not unethi… Maybe it is. I don't know.

  • Alcohol excise is increased every 6 months.
Might find this had something to do with it and worth keeping note of for future purchases.
