BuyDVDHere.com Discussion

It's not too amazing, but I thought I'd share.
I found this site whilst surfing a while ago: http://www.buydvdhere.com/
Judging by its name, I wonder what it does?

It seems a little dodgy (the prices are pretty damn low [e.g. Every James Bond movie for $40] and the DVDs are region free), but I tried it, and its really good.
The prices are really cheap, except for the postage, which is for some reason only available in express. (I complained to them and got a $5 off voucher )

I ordered the Dexter 1-3 box set, which cost me around $40 + p&h
I got it, and was really happy about the quality.

They have a really cool Sopranos box set for about $70, which I plan to purchase next, where at ezydvd you'd be paying $300.

I just thought this site might be worth the share. :)

  • You can find the registrant information of the domain here:

It is registered by someone in Guangdong, China. Not saying that it is fake — in fact legitimate DVDs are sold at a fraction of price we pay here to compete with pirated ones.

  • It is surely pirated stuff. They are selling tonnes of dvds that have not even been commercially released yet for example all 20 seasons of the simpsons plus a tonne of other tv series which have not released all the seasons to dvd yet. Basically they just download it all of the net then copy it to dvds and sell at a massive markup.

  • I've found countless websites with exactly the same items, different photos, though.
I have recieved from buydvdhere.com and it is impossible to tell it was, if it was.

  • Yes there are websites selling it but it's not legit because its just been downlaoded of the net - it still looks professionally done but the fact is that it's still a pirated copy. You go to thailand/malaysia and you can buy the exact same stuffs at the night markets for about 2 AUD per dvd if you haggle with them.

  • Other countries certainly have access to cheaper DVDs than we do. I bought the Planet Earth DVD box set in Thailand for Aus$25 last year, a legitimate copy from an upmarket department store. 21 and Heroes were about $16 per series. JB Hi-Fi often sell things for half the price of what other stores charge, but their half-price is still double what you might pay overseas. I always steer clear of dodgy copies overseas. The legit copies are so cheap anyway, there's no point buying pirated ones!

  • amazon.co.uk is good for blu-ray.
They are region B as well. :)

  • I was wondering if anyone had bought off this website, and if so what were the dvd's like?
    Thanks
