  • The name 'ritmo' strikes fear into my heart!

  • i bought this for about $12 from MSY at the start of the year. It works fine and ive never had any major issues with it. The only problem is that it has an array of flashing LEDs at the top, that light up when it's plugged in. You can't sleep at night when its plugged in lol, so you have to cover them up. But yeah, has never got hot, and hasn't failed.

  • Davo, I agree! The LEDs are unbelievably bright.

Also, I've never truly got the "powered" component of it working. It would never charge my iPhone. So I just chucked the power adapter in the bin and use it as an un-powered USB Hub.

    • really, thats strange, the "power" worked fine for me (when i have it plugged in).

Tbh i have had mixed results with apple products and charging them through powered usb hubs. I ended up buying an AC USB charger and it works fine. I think the powered hubs wont work if there isn't a signal from the computer (depending on their design).

      • I ended up buying an AC USB charger

Surely you could just charge it from a USB port directly connected to your PC?
Or your foxtel box, PS3, Wii or anything that has a usb port.

Charging through a hub can be tricky as the hub takes power to operate so there isnt much left for the device to charge from.

        • depends if i have my laptop with me.

I frequently travel / work at the mines.

        • The whole point of the powered USB hub is to allow usage of power requiring USB devices…

My poor laptop only has 2 USB ports, and I have way too many (power requiring) USB devices…
