Why not just advertise it as foolproof?

Reckon its just their way of saying no animal products and it aint leather.

Edit: Just had a look and they forgot to mention it is ugly as well

  • +2

Doesn't look that ugly to me. I really like the innovation. Imagine, old leather belts are like 25mm gaps this is like 2mm! Fits exactly how you want, just right.

And after a big meal, you unclick a few notches. Brilliant.

  • Hey OP, did you also invent the best bottle opener? How is it the best?

Couldn't make out how it worked from this pic http://passionforlife.com.au/best-bottle-opener-in-the-world…

Oh I see http://www.bottlemate.com.au/ looks great. Much smaller than the coffee mug size I thought ;-p

Any chance of a double deal? Belt and opener ;-p Pushing my luck I know. 3 belts plus 3 openers for $75? ;-p

Holy smokes, you're not only an engineer but one at our nations top science agencies!?! Congrats and thanks for your work. Sorry the funding is being cut so much though etc.

Ever thought of linking how you're actually a CSIRO engineer, or is that frowned upon/not allowed? In America if you work at NASA or JPL etc they promote the heck out of that link.

Any plans for a mini shorter track belt (say just 6 inches like rollerblade/snowboards, and another one that goes ALL the way around. That way we can add click on accessories like tool holders. Military, cops and users or radios and scanners would love this new full track belt. Tradies too.

Plus I can combine them and ahem tie wrists up, for you know, holding purposes. ;-p

Would have been awesome to see Kickstarter get goals for a brown and white one. Or red.

Thanks for the feedback and nice comments.

Yep I can do 3 BottleMates and 3 ClickerBelts including postage in Australia for $75 - normal price would be $109.90! (only as long as this deal is active)

I do have plans in the pipeline for different versions of the belt.

If you are interested in the 3 BottleMates and 3 ClickerBelts deal please contact me via this form and I will send you an invoice via Paypal:

    • Nice! Thanks!

Done. But just realised I didn't put my address in form. So will repeat.

Thanks, got it. I'll post tomorrow.
        Cheers

  • Good idea, but looks like a timing belt for a car.

    • Hehe, could turn it inside out and retrofit one. Just need an old ratchet clicker thingy to hold it. Plus you'll have to sand and wash and varnish the rubber so it doesn't mark clothes and skin.

Doubt it'd work though as the angles of the 'clicks' or ratchet notches are different. But could do some other loop buckle method just won't make a sound or be a cool one handed operation.

I guess the selling point of this is that it looks like a snowboard binding ladder strap.

Just get an automatic belt from Ebay for one that looks like a normal belt.

  • +1

Cheers, ordered! Would of purchased a bottle thingy as well except for the postage (and I am not sure what I would do with the extra belts in the $75 deal).

    • I'm gifting mine.

  • The automatic belts look great. They look like they're prone to slipping and wearing out though. Doesn't look durable. Oh course they're just to hold pants up, but I'd hate to think that if in a rare scenario when someone grabbed it that it would slip loose unlike normal belts and this ratchet one.

The buckles are a bit wide but slick looking. The Jaguar one is kind of cool but I am not a celebrity or brand wearer and won't be promoting a car, let alone one I don't drive or own.

Got mine. I feel like a ski boot! Would prefer if the notched bit of the belt was the same width as the rest and the buckle was flatter. Apart from that it works ok. Just in time for the Christmas pork out.
