It appears that iTunes is having a TV store sale at the moment. If you run itunes and go to TV stores they have a number of season passes on discount, plus marathons of finished series for $19.99.

Marathons:
Mad Men 1-6
House of Cards 1-2
Homeland 1-3
Vampire Diaries 1-5
The Bridge 1-2
Offspring 1-5
Modern Family 1-5 (and the only way to get S5 on HD legally…)
American Dad 1-9
Downton Abbey 1-4
Breaking Bad complete (they also have a complete series bundle)
American Horror Story 1-3
Inbetweeners 1-3
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills 1-4

Peaky Binder 1-2

Revenge 1-3
Greys Anatomy 1-9

Etc. I don't have time to list everything. Supposed to be painting my loungeroom… :P

Also there are a few bundles like Game of Thrones 1-4, Complete Breaking Bad.

Season Passes "Apparently" Discounted. They have these listed on a limited time discount page, but I've checked and a lot of these haven't actually been discounted yet. Castle Season 7 has
Castle 7
Gotham 1
Agents of Shield 2
Homeland 4
Walking Dead 4
NCIS and NCIS LA (but not NCIS New Orleans damn it)
Outlander
Also note that some stuff is on sale but not listed on the main page, for example Revenge Series 3

  • House of Cards is an excellent show, I can't recommend it enough. Looking forward to Netflix coming in March next year :)

Except that Netflix Australia won't be able to screen House of Cards as FOXTEL already has the Rights to it. Of course you will still be able to watch it through US Netflix

      • Has it actually been confirmed that House of Cards won't be viewable in Australia? According to http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2014/11/foxtel-loses-house-of-ca…, Foxtel doesn't own the rights to Season 3, and you'd assume there is a time period associated with any agreement Foxtel had for season 1 and 2. I also find it hard to believe that Netflix wouldn't have worked in a clause to allow them to show their own programs if they were to ever enter the market, and I'm not entirely sure getting such a line in there would have been too much of an issue for Foxtel given Netflix wasn't operating in Australia when the show originally aired which is the prime window for having those exclusive rights anyway.

I'd imagine both House and Cards and Orange is the New Black will both be there when the service launches.

        • Netflix themselves specifically didn't include house of cards or orange is the new black in their launch announcement
          http://mobile.news.com.au/technology/home-entertainment/netf…

        • @Monger: I saw that article at the time and took it with a bit of a grain of salt. News.com.au has affiliations with Foxtel via news corp and that article kind of read as such.

If Foxtel indeed doesn't have the rights to season three as per the above, then surely they are launching at least with the new episodes. From memory, the AU launch very closely aligns with the airing of season three too which probably isn't a coincidence.

I really do think it'd be there. You'd have to think Netflix Australia has been planned for some time and they aren't going to dig a hole for themselves with a perpetual exclusive arrangement for anything that has aired that lessens their own control of their own content.

@Smigit: fair enough, you may be right. even if they don't have them for Australian Netflix, you will be able to use Hola/unblockus/VPN to access the US or anyother country's Netflix to watch these shows

        • @Monger: Indeed. Even now the different content between the UK and US versions makes it worthwhile to be able to swap regions, and I can't see that changing with the AU launch.

Word of warning: the GoT bundle is actually a different product (i.e. it shows up in iTunes as a single "season" with all the eps from Seasons 1-4, but none of the special features). I know it'll piss off some of the OCD'ers who probably expect to just receive the separate individual seasons as if you purchased them separate - I'm one of them :-P
