Qld co. & its apparent business practices, when operating in SA. Does Contract Law allow this?

So, I got a call fromm a company in Adelaide (whose head-office is located in Brissy), & - although I'd never ordered anything from them, the caller went on & on, (& I was slow & a bit weak, eg, from fightimg a cold & associated coughing spell, before picking up the phone).

Soon, the caller got to a point of interest to me, ie, that they do not hand-over their products' Remotes, until the bill is paid, in full.

Several remotes come with their products, & it's easier to use theie products, ie, with a Remote, in-hand.

Later, it seemed to me both impolite & like it could breach Contract Lay to expect payment before all the bits of the device was provided. (How else can one test the Remotes?)

What'cha think?

  • & like it could breach Contract Lay

Pretty sure it's not breaching and Contract Lay

  • Nothing against the law in expecting payment before goods are provided. More the norm in fact.

  • Just curious, what's the product? Be shocked if it's a TV so am going to guess it's aircon or some Roomba knock off type thing.
