  • $8 shipping. I guess it's not that cheap then.

When are they going to release it on Blu-Ray?

Come on, everybody has been selling their DVDs on ebay already. And even the retailers are trying to clear out their DVD stock.

You'd think Mr. Beardy would have enough money to remaster his crappy movies on Blu-Ray.

Is this a bargain or an advertisment? thumbs down

  • Wonder if this is the original version or the 'remastered' version with the extra scenes and added 'cute' creatures that ruined it.

    • I am certain that this is not the original version. The only question is which of the various remastered versions this is.

Wholesale cost for these when they are re-released in 18th November is $38.50 inc GST, so expect your Big W / Kmarts etc to be selling these for around the same price. This promotional pricing ends 14th Feb, but Fox usually do a very limited run of these sets, so you'd be better off buying sooner rather than later.

Its a bargain when released, but not a real bargain, as it'll be this price at most places.

Edit: As for what versions these are, reckon they're the same old versions they've continued releasing over the last few years (each movie is a 2-disc set = 6 discs per box), but this time with a different cover. If they were newly special remastered super dooper versions, they'd make sure you'd know well in advance!

Fox love releasing these in limited numbers - empty the marketplace of Star Wars, build demand, then re-release as a 'limited release'. Wait for the limited number to sell-thru, and repeat.

  • Not a bargain…

  • how many times can the same dvd box set be be re-re-re-re-re-released !!!!!!!!!!!????

    • Ask Disney / Buena Vista,, they wrote the book…
      \_/7

    • Probably until they fail to generate profits on the limited edition releases :)

But um … why buy? :) My local DVD rental shops only charge $1 or $2 …

(Though, I might not be a target customer as I haven't watched Star Wars in years)
