Are these 3 or 4 platter drives? How reliable are they?
It has three 500GB platters. We sold around 200 units of the hard disk since July, 3 returns up to now.
Is 3 returns suppose to be good or bad? Anyway too late….I just bought one.
It's 1.5%, which is exactly half of the average manufacturers failure rate estimate according to a recent google study, and is a heck of a lot better than the rate for certain Seagate 7200.11 drives! ;)
