Best Value Towels?

Towels could do with replacing soon. Not looking to grab the $5 cheapies, but don't want to spend hundreds either.

Anyone know what Kmart/Target/BigW or others sell that are nice towels for the money?

    • for the Grandeur towels as well. I was looking to replace some Kmart towels we'd had for quite a few years, they'd lasted really well, but the ones Kmart stock now are crap, really thin and they feel like the sort of towels that would be hopeless to try to dry yourself with. Target had the Grandeur towels (regular size) for half-price at $10 each so bought several of those and they're great - thick and fluffy, very absorbent. Just a tip - I'd often heard what I thought was an old wives' tale about not using fabric softener on towels as it (supposedly) progressively reduces their absorbency, so thought I'd try it with these towels. Haven't used fabric softener at all when washing them, and after eight months of constant use, they're just as nice as when they were new. We don't have a dryer to "fluff" them up, so I just shake them out well before hanging them up on the line.
  • Try adairs? The Flinders Egyptian towels are pretty good.

Canningvale and Sheridan on Catch of the Day - plus an extra 30% off, plus $10 off with discount code THANKYOU

Under $10 each for towels that are usually $40+

  • Sheridan hands down over the Target ones. We have both, and the target ones are as stiff as a board. I think it's our water, but the Sheridan ones are not.

As it turns out all their towels are currently 70 per cent off at Sheridan Outlet.
