Try second hand, maybe from Gumtree? Check and come to see physically/test before buy. Bargain as usual. New is expensive… and laptops aren't usually worth it for gaming unless you extremely need the mobility, plus it won't last as long as an upgradable desktop setup in which you would get better performance for the same price.

If you are not fine with 2nd hand stuff, try Dell outlet or Lenovo outlet.

  • I don't have much knowledge about what sort of gaming laptop should I buy
    Can you suggest some please

I found a decent laptop under 1K on MSY and i reckon the specs are very good for just casual gaming. The specs and price of this HP laptop has a price and spec advantage compared to the asus and toshiba laptop that you mentioned.

The pricing of the laptop should be the same for all MSY branches in Australia.

However this laptop may struggle to play some current high-end 2014 and upcoming 2015 games at ultra settings, such as Battlefield 4. But it should be powerful enough to handle most games at high settings.

  • I got this from JB hifi during a 20% off sale a few months ago, for about 850. Should try going into the store and just asking for a deal, they might knock it down to 950 or so.

It's still pretty good, only bad thing is its not full HD, but then your prob not gonna run a lot of newer games at 1080p with a gt940 anyway.

  • If you have a Macbook Pro 2011 that's still a decent machine. Consider a game console instead? Game console and a good 1080p 32" TV can cost less than even a cheap gaming laptop.

    • I have PS3 and 55" led tv
But I wantportable also MacBook runs very hot via bootcamp that's why I ordered laptop from affordable laptops for 1500$

  • a SSD hard drive makes a huge difference to games if you can afford to run with much less space
