Christmas tree with injection-moulded leaves

I'm looking for a type of Christmas tree that I haven't seen in stores for years, and I'm hoping that they are still made and someone on OzB knows where I can buy one.

The distinguishing feature of this Christmas tree is that the "leaves" aren't made like a bottle brush (two wires twisted together, with plastic strips captured between the wires).

In the tree I am looking for, the "branches" and "leaves" are separate parts - the branch is a plastic frame, and the leaves slide over the tips of the branches and click into place. The leaves are injection moulded, each leaf is a single piece. I estimate that the lower, larger branches have about 40 to 50 leaves per branch.

My Mother has such a tree, which was purchased about 40 years ago. It still works, it gets used every Christmas. Sometimes, if you brush against the tree, a "leaf" will fall off - you simply pick it up, find where it came from, and click it back into place.

My Mother's tree is 2m tall (about 6 feet) tall, and I'd like that height too, but anything from 1m to 2.5m will do.

Has anyone seen one of these for sale? Or if you have one yourself, and it has a brand name, please let me know.

I know the exact kind that you're talking about, Russ. However, my apologies as I haven't seen them in years.

    Good luck in your search.

    • Thanks. I was struggling to describe the tree, your reply tells me that I didn't do too bad at the description.

I was hoping that Amazon might sell one, as they have about 400 pages of them, at maybe 25 per page. However, after checking the first 30 pages or so, I became rather discouraged. If I could think of the correct search term, I could probably shorten the search dramatically, however "injection-moulded" apparently isn't the right search term.

I'll have a quick look at Amazon UK now, in the hope that they have different brands.

These guys have molded plastic tip trees - it seems to be a bit of a premium products nowadays though:

Up to 60% off and free shipping at the moment though…

    • Thanks! That looks even higher-quality than my Mum's one. I see what you mean about "premium product", but sometimes I prefer quality over cheapness.

I also found that they have an Australian website, and stock the trees locally too. The US site uses a re-shipper, it looks complicated to work out what the all-up price is. The Australian site has free shipping too, and are currently on sale as well.

      Thanks again!
