I've been reading info about Telstra pre paid mobile long expiry and switching plans, but I'm a bit confused
I have a $30 starter pack (thanks to the Woolworths spend $30, get it for $1 promo)
If I activate the sim with long expiry, can I then change the plan to the pre paid freedom plan ($30) and get the anytime bonus, $250 total credit and 800mb of data but with the 6 month expiry of the long life recharge?
Essentially I want to have the pre paid freedom plan inclusions but with a 6 month expiry. Is this possible?

No it's not possible as the Bonus Credit and Data will have a one month expiry.
Your actual real credit ($30) may maintain the original expiry, but the short answer to your question is no.
