  • As always, shop around. Cash back may not apply using a code but still worth a try. Welcome awards (worth approx 7% rebate) do not accrue when using the code. Hotels.com prices do not seem to be as good as they once were.

If you go through cash rewards the price seems to change (noticed this with otel and hotels.com) as opposed to going direct which negates the ~5% saving. Buyer beware.

As peck mentioned it is best to shop around (trivago/hotelscombined); if hotels.com comes up best in those searches then getting this code on top of it being the cheapest works out wonders.

You're right, so dodgy. Prices when up when booking via Cash Rewards.

  • Agreed. I use wego.com as they CAN AT TIMES list more choices than hotelscombined which I also compare to. I've used cheaptickets extensively of late. I travel overseas around every ten weeks for 3-3 1/2 weeks and, even with the currency conversion from USD to AUD, they have been the cheapest but on par with their sister ratestogo (with code). CHEAPSTER is the current 10% code at the moment with cheaptickets. Their website lists any code that is current at the time.

  • Do these guys charge international transaction fees? Been looking at a hotel and they seem to be the cheapest. Don't have a international free fee card though.

    • They themselves don't charge but your bank does. With my bank and my cc it's 3%. xe.com is a site whereby they compare currency conversion and are well regarded. My error above, which I can't edit, is that the code CHEAPSTER is a 20% off not 10%

none of these sites are cheaper anyway………………………
i just booked the hilton sydney for 234 a night over the aussie day weekend on the hilton website.

    • You neg due to the fact that you looked at one hotel ( or possibly more but you have not started that) and compared that to the sites mentioned above????? Hahahaha Absolutely ludicrous!

most hotels have a price guarantee on their respective sites, meaning if you find it cheaper they will beat it……

        • so u want to go thru the process of calling the hotel for the price beat when u can get a cheaper price elsewhere?

  • worked for me..thanks op

  • Just booked a Bali hotel I've been watching for a few week - great price drop in the last 24 hours (maybe to do with the Aus. Gov. travel warning? ;)

  • Yay, thanks OP, just booked a hotel in Taipei! Been waiting on the price drop for yonks!

Hmmm! I wonder what's the chance of hotel booking sites having a sale for Australia Day? :D

  • I am wondering if I want to book two rooms, should I make two bookings as the 10% only applies to one room at a time? or would that be a breach of terms?

  • Just tried to use it and now it says it has been used too many times. =(
