Catch of The Day Website

Is it just me or are others having problems adding items to their cart on the COTD website? Was looking at some items and it won't let me add them to cart, nor log in, nor send a query to the site (since it won't let me log in). Are others having the same problems? Thank you in advance.

Site works fine for me. Try using another browser?

    • Thank you. Now it seems to be working… same browser. Gremlins I guess. I will remember to give another browser a try next time though. Thanks again.

  • ordered 2 days ago, worked for me.

    • Thank you. Probably just a glitch at my end. Fixed now.

Just purchased my first product on COTD, I was little hesitant, but realized i'de be saving ~ $50 from the RRP elsewhere (locally)

I bought this item on Friday 2/1/15, so far it's Wednesday and they haven't even dispatched it for postage (which would in itself take 5-7 days). They protect themselves by stating something like:
'It may take up to 10 days to dispatch your item from our warehouse'

WTF and WHY? why can it take up to 10 days for someone to move around a warehouse, pick your item and throw it on a trolley for postage?

    • I've previously bought a number of things from them and found the shipping to be quite fast. Haven't dealt with them in the last couple of months or so, perhaps things have changed.

I must be having the bad straw,

Here it is from their site: "After your order is confirmed, it may take up to 10 days for the dispatched notification to be sent to you"

so take the average of that, 5 days to dispatch, plus 5 days for standard post, your left with up to 10 days (or 2 full weeks) for national delivery…I get things faster from Amazon (US) with half the postage cost

Sorry for digressing the original post

oh BTW, I emailed their customer service, and got an auto reply saying "we aim to respond to queries within 2 business days" so even responding to a simple email takes 2 days, dispatching up to 10, it seems they need more staff

        • Yes, once I got over my hesitancy of buying on the net I realised that most other sites offer much faster delivery than COTD. Really dislike it when any site doesn't respond for days. It often means missing out on a product if I am not willing to take a risk on something while waiting for a reply. They all need an online chat sales person since as professionals we expect at least the Harvey Norman standard.

Actually you have encouraged me to try Amazon now. I figured that would take ages for delivery, given that its international postage.

        • @Miss Dior:

Umm yeah, standard post from Amazon is taking 5 days (coming direct from the US of A)
Also their dispatch is way faster, when you order, they dispatch it within 24/48hrs

Miss Dior, Amazon is gr8, but with the shitty Aussie dollar, unless it's a 60% discount and more, it's probably not worth it

"why can it take up to 10 days for someone to move around a warehouse, pick your item and throw it on a trolley for postage?"

Actually Mr frosty, COTD orders are "picked and packed" by a robot (seriously):
      http://www.powerretail.com.au/pureplay/catch-of-the-day-ware…

Maybe the x-mas period wore out its little robot arms, or it's crashed/needs to be rebooted, or its battery is flat… the possibilities are endless.

      • lol, you learn something new every day

maybe the robots need a firmware upgrade

    • COTD also drop ships, so keep that in mind
