ebay - used items for sale

Less people seem to be selling second hand items off Ebay these days. What sites are people using to sell used goods now?

    Gumtree

Free and for me thus far - better and faster results.

You do get more low ballers though - "No…I will not take 80% off my listed price because you're paying cash…"

And they make it sound like they are doing you a favor taking it off your hands at their ridiculous offers.

      • Hence the moniker 'Scumtree'. You really do meet some interesting people, even if just over the phone, on Scumtree. The dregs of society. They must trawl through all day.

They must have some success, some suckers out there that just want to get rid of it at first offer.

Gumtree is good cause it's free, but the problem with it is that they actively ensure that it is not too good (i.e. they will not introduce a seller feedback system, etc.); because it's owned by ebay.

    • Wow…just found out that it's owned by ebay! That explains a lot indeed.

This reminds me of when a few years back Channel 7 bought the rights for the Tivo service in Australia and removed the ad-skipping functionality that it was famous for in the US.

  • Fishpond
    Etsy

  • But FeeBay owns Scumtree…

Gumtree, good for finding better prices from local people that pick up.

EBay is more for bargain hunters, also mainly for posting small items.
