Just saw this. Not good business when south park is $28 new and $42 pre owned.

  • +9

preowned games went up by 50%..

  • +16

Call of Duty Ghosts is $28 new but $88 Pre Owned. That is horrific.

    • +9

eBgames just went full retard on this sale.

      • +1

No, on the scale of retardedness you have to compare it to the bushfire ratings. EB is always Full Retard. This calls for a higher rating.

    • +1

      probably some algorithm they used to bump up the preowned games price for the promotion;

  • +5

Awesome opportunity: buy games new then return them as pre-owned = profit! lol

    • Dont you need a receipt to return the game? Quite sure on the receipt states how much you bought it for.

      • +6

He probably meant trade them back in but knowing EB games, the trade in price will be shocking anyways.

        • +1

Their trade in price is a joke.

i see tropical freeze and pikmin 3 in the preowned thing.
Then notice they havent been jacked to $69 :).
Then realise they arnt apart of the sale and my heart broke :(

      a part*

BTRaynes sums it up perfectly. COD Ghosts is ridiculous.

As is Watch Dogs which is $68 pre-owned, up from $23 last week vs $57 new. What about F1 2013 $78 pre-owned vs $28 new … they should be giving this 2yr old abomination away. No deal to see here.

Typical of EB, I don't know why I am so
Disappointed since it is stunts like this that seem to be their norm

The COD example is especially horrific though even for EB

  • Think I saw LBP3 preowned ps4 in store at $66. BOGOF that with drive club, that a good deal?

In store I saw LBP3 had the sticker but doesn't seem to be there online.

    • $66 for both isn't bad.

But you will get over both pretty fast.

  • Went into EB last night
Xbox one Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (preowned)was $28 (definitely)
On the website they want $58
Will have to go back and take a look and see in store again this afternoon

    Another example:
    Just Dance 2014 (XBox One)
    $28 new
    $48 preowned

    facepalm

  • +3

The bogof games cost more than the standard new version of the same game. Ridiculous

  • +1

It looks as if all preowned titles are now higher than new price.

  • I managed to get a good deal out of this on Wednesday, when it overlapped with the boxing day sale (couldn't get both simultaneously - choose one or the other). Two $22 games were discounted to $18 and $12 (total $30) for boxing day sale, but got them both for $22 :)

  • If only The Last of Us was part of this sale. Would happily pay $33 for it to avoid the 45gb download when using the ~$25 psn code.

  • Someone mentioned something on their facebook page and this is what they said:
we didn't increase the price, the game would have been on sale over Christmas and has now gone back to it's normal price in light of the Buy 1 Get 1 free starting.

    • +1

Still seems odd that they have so many preowned games selling higher than new versions of the same game.

      • Yeah it does. That sale they are talking about does not explain what has happened to all of the pre owned prices

  • Successfully price matched the BOGOF at JB. Driveclub and LBP3 for 33 a piece. Both preloved

    • How did you price match this promotion? I know they price match games but how did you get them to do the buy 1 get 1 free also?

      • i spoke to the girl in the games corner and asked her if they price match eb. she said yes, i told her eb sells drive club and lbp3 for 66 for both, never mentioned it was a bogof. she then went online, dunno if she saw the bogof. she called eb asked the price and confirmed stock. then she said she was happy to match the price.

tried this on another jb, they said they dont match promos

  • Thoughts on Destiny + Drive Club. $33 each (drive club $66), neither seem to have had their prices raised for the promotion like the other games
