oops just found out i insured my car twice for the last year

just got my renewal forms for car insurance

turns out i had it insured with both CommInsure and Progressive for the last 12 months.

do i have any chance of getting any $'s back? I'm guessing not.

Will be refunded find out best insurance you want to be with. Prove them you had another by mistake paid twice so no needed cover From one company. Must be refunded. If not call consumer affair.

  • If you tried to cancel one during the cooling off period when you initially signed up and it never went through you might be able to get the money back.

You should hand in your Ozbargain membership.

With if he bought two insurance policies on the cheap, and therefore 'saved' money twice?

  • If you are paid up in advance, you may be able to have the balance of the insurance refunded. I mean, if you have paid for one year worth of insurance and are 6 months into your policy, you might ask for the next 6 months to be refunded. Good Luck.

  • Yes you can, you just have to choose which company you're going to stay with and then ask the other company for a refund but you will need to show them proof of insurance :)
