I am currently with Optus but in a $60/month contract ending in 18th Jan, 2015.
I am looking for cheap phone/carrier deal.
I am getting confused after checking each of the carriers website. Seems all are getting more expensive.
I am now desperate towards cost cutting :-)
Following are my usage summery in last 3 months:

they are all getting more expensisve. there's no point for the big 3 telco's to cut their prices and start a price war.
Should be able to do this easily on any of the following for less than $40/month
Optus resellers
Virgin
Vaya
Amaysim
Yatango
Telstra Resellers
Telechoice (Kogan offer)
ALDI
Boost
Virgin are the only ones who do a new Phone + Contract deal from that list.
^^^ Agree with Scubacoles. The only thing you won't get on a reseller is 4G (except Vaya and Virgin), but their deals are usually better.
Amaysim are getting 4G this year too.
And Yatango got 4G a while ago as well.

15%-20%comes up bimonthly & stack w -$10 Coles/wow.
