Free REMO t-shirt (excluding postage) for new members

81

This is different to this post: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/1781

This offer doesn't require you to make any purchases, and you can choose any t-shirt designs for free. You only pay postage.

Postage is $9-11 (excluding GST). You need to create a new account using the provided link for this offer. You will automatically see the "You will be charged $0 for the 1st T Shirt added to your Cart" on that link.

Also, my order came included with a free pocket planner and a free printed thing. It could be included with all orders.

  • Is it worth ordering ?

  • I joined Remo a little while ago but didn't order anything. This offer still worked for me even though I wasn't officially a new member, just a member that hadn't ordered before.

sus888, I have only heard good feedback regarding the quality of their products.

  • Please be advised that this link is affiliated with user ID 28532 on their site. I am not sure if it therefore breaches terms & conditions (commissions, etc.). I changed the ID number to another random number to help someone else out.

    • Yes I have just noticed that. However when I removed the sponsored ID then the site no longer prompts that you'll get a free T-shirt. I guess I'll leave it there as an exception, but otherwise no affiliation links here.

  • Yeah you must be recommended by another user for the offer which makes it tricky… scotty, you need a random number generator on the link! :) By the way someone on Buckscoop posted the EXACT same link - make of that as you will…..

    • pauly din let us know he get points for the recommendation! though the points have no use till yet !!

EDIT : anyway its a free tshirt … cant get em any cheaper

      • Hey I don't get any points of anything. I got the link of a search in google. :P

From what it looks like, the ID there is the sponsor ID perhaps? I don't know. But feel free to delete this offer as you see fit. I'm just helping fellow bargain hunters like myself. :)

    • I guess we also need to dig into the system to figure out why the affiliation info is there. It could be that there is actually no financial incentive, but just for them to collect some statistics… Well I am not too fussy about it. Free T-shirt is a free T-shirt and I can't find a way to make it even cheaper :)

  • OK here's the deal - when you're a member there's a link to refer a friend (at the top of the screen, 1/3rd from the left). Your ID is in that link to the friend which is why it populars the Sponsor field. Without a referral you can't get the free 1st T-shirt offer.

Now what does the referral do? It gives the user points. More points = more status = apparently better offers depending on what tier you're in.

So what's the solution here? Couple of options: 1. Remove the offer for breaching terms (they did this on Buckscoop); 2. Tell people to click the link then change the 5 digit number to any random number (that's what I did); or 3. Let new members post their ID and then get people to replace the 5 digit number with the last posted unused number - but this can get unruly.

    Hope this helps!

    • Thank you for the information.

I have actually just changed the referral ID to something that's unlikely to be linked to an existing customer.

  • Hey it still works with the random number! Good work scotty. :). Sorry I didn't realize someone else was getting some referral points. Had I known, i wouldn't have posted this offer. Me bad. :(

What's the point used for besides status? And better offer? You got to be kidding me, their merchandise are quite expensive. Definitely not something a bargain hunter would look for.

  • This is a great deal! The t-shirt I ordered (skull and crossbones) was excellent quality. Shipping was fast and they also threw in a diary, pocket calender and stickers. For $11 this is a real bargain.
Unfortunately my mum is still waiting on her order - it's taking alot longer than mine did.

  • Hhmm…clicked on the link and tried to purchase a t-shirt, but I am getting charged for it…But, I'm getting a Printed Thing FREE Customer Copy.

Looks like you now have to buy a t-shirt to get the second one free…

    • Hi audz,

You're right, the link no longer works. However, the original link with the sponsor id (not mine, and I am in no way affiliated with REMO — just found it on the net) still works and you still get the "FREE REMO T Shirt! You will be charged $0 for the 1st T Shirt added to your Cart." message once clicked. I don't know, maybe Scotty can figure out a way to tweak the URL again?
